ABB Robotics exhibited its 2nd Generation of FlexPicker IRB 360 at Pack Expo 2007 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, October 15 – 17, 2007. Recognizing that some operators remain fearful of the complexity of programming robot lines, ABB’s new demo showed to our customer how easy it is to integrate the picking, packing and palletizing with the help of a vision system. In addition, the new Panel Mounted Controller from ABB was on display.

A record 23,960 visitors from North America and 3,718 international visitors gathered at the Las Vegas Convention Center where ABB showcased its innovative solutions offering enhanced productivity software and the picking, packing and palletizing robots.

In addition to having the demo cell in our booth, 13 of ABB’s partners from the U.S., Canada and Europe also displayed 13 robots in their booths. ABB attracted an elbow-to elbow crowd that covered its exhibit space and extended to the aisles in each direction. Clearly, customers were fascinated by our robotic applications. About 130+ leads were generated from this 3-day show.

Prior to the show, ABB and PMMI organized a Global Packaging Forum- “Robotics Meets Packaging” on Oct. 12 and 13, 2007 aiming to provide an atmosphere for the peers in the industry to network and exchange ideas for the future. More than 60 customers from 20 countries in the world participate in our Forum.
