Labeling Services Including Pre Application of Labels
We have the ability to pre apply labels to our stock bags so bags arrive to your door already labeled and ready to fill. This is how we do it:
- give us a call to establish package size, color, request label application specification, and cost of label application
- contact your label supplier, design labels and buy labels (we can offer referrals)
- send your labels to PBi
- PBi applies label to our bags and ships them to you, along with unused labels
- bags arrive at your door labeled and ready to fill
Custom Printed Bags Using Reverse Printing and Rotogravure Technology
A custom printed bag is packaging that has your brand, your logo and your design printed directly on to the bag. Many customers frequently want to explore custom printing as an option as opposed to stock bags. Here are a couple of easy questions to help determine if you are ready to ``go custom``:
- can you store and go through 15,000-30,000 bags in a year
- do you have about $10K to dedicate to your packaging
We produce over 200 custom printed flexible packages a year (custom printed flexible packaging is a core competency at PBi.) Our capabilities include up to 8 colors (reversed printed) and we employ a full staff of service and project coordinators to help with custom packaging. PBi understands that bags and rollstock need to be produced to specification and delivered on time.
Custom printing requirements include:
- design: look for a designer that knows reverse printing and rotogravure technology (we can help with a referral)
- minimum run quantities: approximately 25,000 bags (based on typical 12-16 oz. foil gusseted bag). Bag size and style will change the minimums
- printing charges: printing requires color and each color needs a separate cylinder/plate. (cylinders cost approximately $500 per color.)

Service at Every Level
PBi`s custom printing group assists a prospect or client at every level of the custom printing process. We strive to keep the process simple so expectations and actual timelines match up. To make the process easy we offer:
- referral to knowledgeable graphic designers who know rotogravure and flexographic printing
- detailed printing specifications can be electronically transferred to and from PBi`s graphics department
- package prototypes with your product
- prototypes for pre production testing (if applicable)
- bag die lines for the graphic designers
- test rolls for form fill and seal machines (if applicable)
- coordination of all aspects of shipping
- quality control audits before, during and after product is shipped
